Acorn is approaching another time of transition. Change can be unsettling but it is only through change that life continues; stagnation brings only stasis, and death.
Rain and I have been serving as the High Priestess and High Priest of Acorn since the summer of 2018, under the long-distance supervision of Chime, the founder of Acorn and High Priestess of White Oak Coven. Having moved back to Minneapolis, Chime left Acorn in our care until such time as we were ready to hive off and become independent in the way that traditional Wiccan covens are meant to. Shortly after that, we received our elevations to the Second Degree and began to undertake the work of that degree. Tending our little Acorn was a big part of that work, and we’ve cared for our people and our grove since then under the name of Acorn.
All things change, though. In May of 2024, Rain and I traveled to Minneapolis, having been judged by Chime ready to undergo the elevation to the Third Degree. We’ve returned as Lady Aster 3° and Lord Tusk 3°, recognized as peers by the other autonomous Third Degree Blue Star witches and priests, and as such it will soon be time to receive our ordinations, a public recognition that we are capable of maintaining and passing on the Tradition in full. As part of that process we plan to fully hive our Coven and the Grove and assume our independent place as part of the constellation of Blue Star covens. It will involve a name change, at least in part, as we prepare to take our community into the future.
Growing up isn’t ever easy, but we feel like it’s going to be an adventure.
