Acorn celebrated the second of our three harvest festivals with a visit to Valley Forge State Park northwest of Philadelphia. The weather was absolutely perfect: not too hot, not too cold, no rain, and a little breeze. Sadly because of the latest round of COVID, only four of us were able to gather at the park; we missed the folks who had to stay home but we had a nice day nevertheless. Our little circle attracted a bit of attention as we called the Pagans home as we do every Mabon, but I imagine we looked pretty peculiar. You get used to it!

One Blue Star tradition at Mabon is to ensure that the feast is especially generous: some people believe that your table should include all the kinds of food you want to enjoy in the coming year. We knew we wouldn’t be able to achieve that with just four of us, especially picnic-style, so we opted for a local restaurant instead. We made sure we ordered a variety of foods to cover most of our bases!

We hope you had a blessed Mabon and that your harvest continues to be bountiful as we approach the hinge of Samhain!
